Graduation Ceremony – Pécs, Széchenyi tér Friday, 5 July 2019, 10am

Established in 1989, the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pécs first awarded health science degrees at its summer graduation ceremony in 1993. The biggest celebration of the Faculty brings together the newly graduated health, sports, social and welfare professionals and their guests with the Faculty’s lecturers and teaching assistants.


As usual the graduation ceremony will take place in Széchenyi tér in the historic downtown of Pécs.

Key information for candidates:

To make the event run smoothly, graduates of the Pécs and Kaposvár Training Centres should collect their robes between 8 and 8.30 am, those of the Szombathely and Zalaegerszeg Training Centres should do so between 8.30 and 9 am in Room A1 (ground floor) of BuildingA” of the Faculty (Pécs, Vörösmarty u. 4.), and both groups should do all paperwork (collecting Europass diploma supplement, signing the graduation register, etc.) in the basement hallway of Building “A”.

Candidates are requested to arrive early.

Candidates are requested to arrive early for a full rehearsal from 9.15 am in Széchenyi tér. Please note that only candidates who attend the full rehearsal can receive their diploma at the ceremony for reasons of logistics.

Dress code: Please dress appropriately. Women must wear a suit with gala shoes that are closed toe and heel, while men must wear a dark suit, a tie and dark blucher shoes. Formal wear is also obligatory under the robe. Depending on the weather, the jacket may not be required. The organisers will let you know about this on the event’s day. A professional photographer will be taking photos of candidates during the ceremony. To view them and order copies (both electronic and hard), please visit diplomafoto.hu. Graduates will be notified by email when the photos are developed. Please sign your statement of consent for the delivery of your email address when collecting your robe.

After the ceremony is over, graduates are requested to gather for a family photo on the southern side of the Holy Trinity statue.

After the event, please return your robe and accessories in Building “A” of the Faculty.

For a smooth and safe outdoor event, please read the following useful advice:

  • There will be a tent on the premises to cast some shadow and provide shelter against the rain in bad weather but you are also advised to use an umbrella and/or wear a straw hat.
  • The tent will offer visitors a limited number of seats.
  • The Faculty’s Institute of Emergency Care and Pedagogy of Health, in cooperation with the National Ambulance Service, will have first aid patrol units on the premises. During the event, a first aid centre with beds will offer permanent on-duty care on the ground floor of Building “A” of the Faculty (Pécs, Vörösmarty u. 4.).
  • If you feel sick, please contact the first aid patrol units, the organisers or directly the ambulance staff on the premises.
  • Toilets are available in the Faculty’s buildings (Mária u. 5-7. and Vörösmarty u. 4.) at about 80–120 meters from the premises. Accessible toilets are available in the Vörösmarty utca building.
  • Please note that you may only take photos from the designated places.
  • For reasons of safety, please keep clear of all escape routes and strictly follow the instructions of the organisers seeking their help about any problem, question or comment.
