CARE FOR EUROPE

29 october 2020 Hírek Faculty news

In April 2020, our institution decided to partner with the French Red Cross and other two European universities, to respond to a request for proposals of strategic partnership projects, under the Erasmus + program. Our project was accepted and, on September 1, 2020, the Care for Europe project has officially started.

This project brings together 4 higher education institutions in 4 European countries: the French Red Cross IRFSS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in France, University of Pécs in Hungary, Universitat de Lleida in Spain and Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Finland.

Care for Europe aims to internationalize nursing courses, through a better integration of incoming students during their clinical placements. Paramedical professions are increasingly concerned with globalization and it is therefore important to train our future nurses in multicultural teamwork, so that they acquire intercultural skills. The cultural diversity of the 4 participants, located in different European regions, will result in rich exchanges and allow us to compare our visions, cultures and complementary care practices.

In order to fulfill this integration goal and implement the project, the 4 partners will co-create innovative educational resources, that can be used by the different stakeholders of nursing courses:

  • a MOOC for professionals supervising nursing interns
  • • a guide to good practices intended for higher education institutions with a nursing department, focused on welcoming incoming nursing students and their clinical placements
  • • a film recounting the experience of incoming nursing students who carry out a clinical placement, in order to popularize the practice of Erasmus mobilities in nursing care, especially in hospitals, healthcare or medico-social structures.

To launch the project, a training session on interculturality in nursing education will be organized at the end of November, by the Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Finland. The health crisis requires us to organize this first training activity remotely, but we hope the context will allow us to meet physically soon, to work on all of the project’s other activities...

See you soon for the next episode of the Care for Europe project!
