GRADUATION CEREMONY - PÉCS, SZÉCHENYI TÉR

Following the establishment of the Faculty of Health Sciences in 1989, the University of Pécs awarded the first degrees in Health Sciences in 1993 at a summer graduation ceremony. The most prominent event of the Faculty brings together the newly graduated professionals in health, sports, social sciences with the academic staff.

This year's graduation ceremony will again take place in the historic city centre of Pécs, in Széchenyi tér (square).

Important information for candidates attending the ceremony.

Turn 1 - start of ceremony: 10:00 am

Specializations in Turn 1:

In order for the event to run smoothly, please adhere to the following schedule.

Candidates of the following specializations please arrive before 8:15 am:

Candidates of the following specializations please arrive before 8:45 am:

Administration, collection of robes:

Building „D” (Pécs, Vörösmarty u. 3.)

Candidates arriving at 8:15 am are kindly requested to complete the administrative tasks related to the graduation (e.g. signing the degree registration papers) in room D9 (immediately to the right of the entrance) and to collect their robes.

Candidates arriving at 8:45 am are kindly requested to complete the administrative tasks related to the graduation (e.g. signing the degree registration papers) in room D7 (left up the stairs from the entrance, then right) and to collect their robes.

Candidates are requested to bring a blue pen to complete the administration.

A rehearsal will be held for the candidates at Széchenyi tér from 9:20 am, where we kindly ask you to be on time! For organisational reasons, we will not be able to award the degree to the candidates who do not attend the rehearsal. Thank you for your understanding!

Return of robes

After the event, please return your robe and accessories in room D7 or D9 (depending on where you collected it) of building “D” (Pécs, Vörösmarty u. 3.).

Turn 2 – start of ceremony: 2:00 pm

Administration, collection of robes:

Firstly, please complete the administrative tasks related to the ceremony (e.g.: signing the degree registration papers) and collect the robes in the Lobby of building “A” (Pécs, Vörösmarty u. 4.).

Candidates are requested to bring a blue pen to complete the administration.

A rehearsal will be held for the candidates at Széchenyi tér from 1:20 pm, where we kindly ask you to be on time! For organisational reasons, we will not be able to award the degree to the candidates who do not attend the rehearsal. Thank you for your understanding!

Return of robes

After the event, please return your robe and accessories in the Lobby of building “A” (Pécs, Vörösmarty u. 4.).

Dress code: appropriate attire under the robe is expected during the ceremony! The dress code for ladies is: suit with casual shoes closed front and back, for gentlemen: dark suit, tie, lace-up dark shoes.

Depending on the weather, the jacket may not be required and light summer clothing can be appropriate. The organisers will let you know about this on the event’s day.

A professional photographer will take photos of candidates during the ceremony, which can be viewed/ordered on the diplomafoto.hu. Graduates will be notified by email when the photos are developed. Please sign your statement of consent for the delivery of your email address when collecting your robe.

For a smooth and safe outdoor event, please read the following useful information:

• Drivers should use the attached map to learn about parking. Please note that only paid parking lots are available across downtown and access to the historic centre of Pécs is subject to permission.

• A tent will provide shade and protection from the rain in case of bad weather. It is recommended that relatives staying outside the event venue wear an umbrella and/or straw hat.
• The Faculty's Institute of Emergency Care and Health Education, in cooperation with the National Ambulance Service, will provide first aid patrols at the event site.
• If you feel sick, please contact the first aid patrol units, the organisers or directly the ambulance staff on the premises.
• Bathrooms are located in the faculty buildings about 80-120 m from the event venue (Mária u. 5-7; Apáca street block; Szepesy Ignác u. 1-3.) Accessible bathrooms are located in the buildings of Szepesy street.
• Please note that you may only take photos from the designated places.
• For safety reasons, please keep clear of all escape routes and strictly follow the instructions of the organisers seeking their help about any problem, question or comment.
