Information on the Examination Period
Dear Student,
I hereby inform you about the examination period of the spring semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
Examination period: May 11, 2026 (Monday) – June 12, 2026 (Friday)
Examination period for graduating students: April 27, 2026 (Monday) – May 8, 2026 (Friday)
Start of exam registration: From April 21, 2026 (Tuesday) at 07:00 a.m., continuously.
Examinations will be conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Code of Studies and Examination (hereinafter: CSE) and the Code of Charges and Benefits of the Statutes (hereinafter: CCB) of the University of Pécs, available on the University’s website (https://english.etk.pte.hu/administration/codes-and-guidelines).
The lecturer must refuse to grant the end-of-semester signature due to absences if the student’s absences from held classes exceed the limit specified in Article 45 (2) of the Code of Studies and Examination
Examinations will take place in the buildings of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Exceptions apply only to subjects that include a practical exam that cannot be conducted in the Faculty’s buildings. The exact location of the exam can be viewed in the Neptun Educational System (hereinafter: Neptun), assigned to the given exam date at the time of registration.
Only students who have registered for the exam (i.e., whose names appear on the exam list) are allowed to take part in the exam.
Without proof of identity, the student may not begin the exam.
A student may register for another exam date of the same course only after the examiner has registered the result (grade or “Failed to appear” entry) in Neptun. Only one exam day per subject may be registered for at a time. Taking an exam before the first or after the last day of the examination period is possible only under strict individual consideration.
According to Article 49 (9) of the CSE:
“If the student does not attend the registered exam and he does not exempt his/her absence by stating the well-grounded reason and verifies it on a request submitted to the Registrar’s Office which clearly identifies the exam within 8 days from the exam date, he/she has to pay the absence fee according to Appendix (1) of the Code of Charges and Benefits.”
Please note that only medical certificates bearing a registration (log) number will be accepted.
An unsuccessful exam may be retaken twice within the given study period. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure sufficient time and available exam dates for all exams and possible retake (or bettering exams), and to register for them in due time.
Registration for retake and bettering exams is also possible via Neptun.
According to Article 52 (14) of the CCB: “As of the academic year of 2016/2017 the third and further exams in the same course-unit cannot be taken without paying the exam fee first. The fee shall also be paid in case the student does not take the exams within the same semester. Following the second exam the student shall transcribe the fee of the given exam in the ES, then he/she shall pay it online in the ES, with bank card, via bank transfer, at the cashier in cash with the given currency in the case specified in the Joint Order of the Rector and Chancellor set out in Article 53 (2). Provisions of this Section shall not apply to bettering examinations..”
When calculating the number of retaken exams, Neptun also considers if the student has registered for the given subject in previous semesters.
Students must register for an exam no later than 24 hours before the scheduled exam date and may deregister no later than 36 hours before the exam date.
Retake Exams and Other Service Fees
Third and every further exam or comprehensive exam repetition fee for the same subject: HUF 3 500
Uncertified absence at an examination: HUF 5 000
In addition, I draw the attention of students admitted in or after the 2012/2013 academic year to Article 23 (8) of the CSE:
“The registrar shall terminate the student status of students enrolled in or after 2012/2013 if the number of retake and repeated retaken exams failed at the same course unit reaches five.. Regarding this cause of student status termination the second exam taken at one course unit qualifies as a retake, the third and every further attempt (including the Dean’s retake exam as well) as a repeated retake exam even if that was the first exam at one course unit in a given semester. (…)”
Exam registration is carried out electronically via the website www.neptun.pte.hu Internet access is available in all Faculty buildings.
If you are unable to register for an announced exam date, please immediately report the issue to neptun@etk.pte.hu. Please note that in the event of a technical problem, you must report any issue related to exam registration at least 24 hours before the exam date—clearly specifying the exact name and date of the exam—via email to neptun@etk.pte.hu. Failing this, you may not take the exam, or if you do, your exam result will be invalid.
Please check the validity of the password associated with your EHA/NEPTUN code as soon as possible.
Wishing you a successful examination period,
Yours sincerely,
BERTÁNÉ ANTAL Marianna
