Training Opportunity at the Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB) – CALL FOR STUDENT APPLICATIONS

(Online theoretical training + participation in the Barça Learning Experience in Barcelona, supported by the Pannónia Scholarship)


Dear Students,

We hereby inform you that, within the framework of the cooperation between the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pécs and the Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB), a unique international professional development opportunity is becoming available to students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pécs.

The program consists of an international online theoretical training course, followed by a mandatory professional internship in Barcelona, which takes place within the rehabilitation professional environment of FC Barcelona, at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training center.

 

1. Eligible Applicants

The program is open to both English- and Hungarian-taught students at the following levels of study:

  • 3rd-year students of the BSc Physiotherapy program
  • 1st-year students of MSc programs (profession-specific MSc programs)

In the case of supported participation (application for tuition fee support), it is a condition that the student—if awarded support—enrolls in one of the profession-specific MSc programs of UP FHS and completes their studies with the acquisition of an MSc degree.

Available MSc programs:

  • MSc in Physiotherapy
  • MSc in Complex Rehabilitation – Sports Rehabilitation specialization
  • MSc in Human Kinesiology

 

2. Available Training Programs

2.1 Online Theoretical Training (Capabilia Platform)

Students may participate in one of the following international online programs:

  • Professional Diploma in Injury Management for Team Sports (9 months)
  • Professional Diploma in Team Sports Injuries (9 months)

Key features of the training:

  • Delivered fully online
  • Conducted in English
  • Available on the Capabilia e-learning platform
  • Successful completion of the theoretical component is a prerequisite for starting the practical training

 

2.2 Practical Training Concluding the Online Course

Professional Internship in Barcelona – Barça Learning Experience

At the conclusion of the program, students are required to complete an in-person professional internship in Barcelona:

  • 1-week intensive professional internship in Barcelona
  • Requires physical presence
  • Conducted in FC Barcelona’s rehabilitation professional environment
  • Takes place at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training center
  • Maximum of 10 participants
  • Cannot be applied for individually; participation is possible exclusively through UP FHS mediation

The Barça Learning Experience presents the sports rehabilitation and sports physiotherapy practices applied in elite-level sports at FC Barcelona. The program provides insight into the club’s modern sports science, rehabilitation, and performance optimization methods.

The practical training places emphasis on:

  • Injury prevention
  • Functional rehabilitation
  • Load monitoring
  • The return-to-play process
  • The role of the physiotherapist within a multidisciplinary team

 

3. Application Process and Selection Procedure

Application deadline: March 6, 2026, 11:59 PM

Training period: Participants will receive separate information regarding the details.

Applications are submitted through institutional mediation as follows:

  • UP FHS announces the call and sets the deadlines.
  • Students submit their applications via the designated internal application interface (application form / online form).
  • Applications are evaluated by a professional committee appointed by the Dean.
  • Selected applicants will be notified in writing.
  • In the case of a successful application, UP FHS forwards the applicants’ data to the Barça Innovation Hub, which provides access to the Capabilia system.
  • A maximum of 15 applicants can be accepted per application round.

 

4. Required Application Documents

For a valid application, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Completed online application form
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Motivation letter
  • Official transcript certifying the grade point average of the last two active semesters, issued by the Study Administration Office
  • For MSc students: a copy of the diploma (including final results)

5. Participation Fee and Funding Opportunities

Total program fee (online theoretical training + Barça Learning Experience in Barcelona):
EUR 2,749 / person
(EUR 749 theoretical training + EUR 2,000 practical training)

Based on the decision of the professional committee:

  • For the 5 most outstanding applicants, the full fee of the theoretical training will be covered,
  • An additional 10 participants will receive discounted financial support; details will be communicated individually.

 

6. Certificate and Recognition

Upon successful completion of the program, a separate certificate will be issued by the FC Barcelona Innovation Hub.

Important: The certificate is issued only upon the successful completion of both the theoretical and practical components. Completion of the theoretical component alone does not entitle participants to receive a certificate.

At a later date, in connection with the graduation ceremony, the certificate may be awarded as a separate qualification in a formal, ceremonial setting.
